Top Skincare Tips for Warmer Weather

As summer inches closer, days lounging out in the sun draw towards the horizon. While the sun invites us to spend more time outdoors and in company with great friends, it also brings the humidity, which gives us oilier skin and sweat induced breakouts.

Potential breakouts aren’t anything to lose the summer fun over. Instead of having a minor meltdown, try these skincare tips for warmer weather.

1. Wash your face twice every day

For those who get lazy with twice-daily face washing--pay attention. When the humidity rises in the summer months, it causes us to sweat more, which can clog pores and cause breakouts. Not to mention, the hot weather can make our skin hosts to more bacteria. So, it’s crucial to wash your face twice every day!

  1. Don’t forget toner!

After you’ve washed your face, dab some of our Revive Facial Toner on a cotton pad and give your face an extra wipe down. All the makeup, dirt and whatever else didn’t come off your face during your standard wash will lift with the toner. This is just an extra step to make sure that your face is actually clean and free of any dirt that will clog your pores.

  1. Drink plenty of water

Staying hydrated will keep your skin glowing even during the humid months. If you live in a dry place, then drinking water is especially important! Staying hydrated can cleanse the body of toxins and bacteria, which can help avoid them sticking around on your beautiful face.

  1. But, don’t over do it on the moisturizer

While drinking water is important to staying hydrating, it can’t be replaced by adding a thick layer of moisturizer and calling it a day. Too much moisturizer can clog your pores, especially if you live somewhere humid, and the last thing you want is your skin not sweating. If your face doesn’t sweat, then your pores will clog!

  1. Make masks part of your routine

Face masks are a great way to rid the excess dirt, which can truly enhance all around complexion. Our Renewal Mask with kaolin clay helps stimulate circulation while gently cleansing the skin of excess dirt, oil and pollutants. We highly recommend using this mask once per week to see results.

  1. Exfoliation!

Exfoliation takes off the dead surface skin on your face that is notorious for hanging onto dirt and bacteria. Our Himalayan Rose Body Scrub is key to combating any breakouts that flare up on your shoulders, back or neck during the warm summer months.
